QS Software
If you’ve noticed the smoke coming out of the QS office the last week or so… here’s the lowdown.
WinQS and DimensionX are the newest software to Pro-Plan’s family of software.
WinQS The WinQS software is a tool that will assist in the production of Bills of Quantities, production of estimate documents and calculation of monthly valuations. It also has features like cost analysis of a project, JBCC certificate modules and CPAP (if you don’t know what these are it is ok, its important things quantity surveyors use).
The functionality allows for a visual view of the Bill on screen at all times without printing or previewing. All information that is entered can be viewed and edited on screen. Special features of WinQS includes SABS1200 or Civil Engineering Documents. A project can consist of a combination of Architectural and Engineering bills.
DimensionX DimX as the industry knows it - is great tool for Quantity Surveyors as it provides an integrated environment for capturing dimensions, developing feasibility studies and full Bills of Quantities, thus making the management and control of the costs associated with a construction project that much easier. The program takes advantage of all the benefits of CAD without having to learn CAD and without having CAD installed on your computer.
The program allows you to minimize data input errors and get accurate measurements by locking onto the precision of CADdrawings. DimensionX extracts data from CAD drawings allowing you to work with the data without changing the original drawing or compromising the design integrity. (Yay drawing office!)
Dimx keeps accurate track of from initial dimensioning through to your last revisions, it keeps an accurate track of scope variations and eliminates the need for hardcopy.
